Welcome to Central Kings Band Web Site - a project of the Central Kings Band Parents Association and the Central Kings Music Department.

Music is an integral part of our school and plays a central role in the school community. This year the Band program is enjoying very significant popularity with over 200 students participating in one or more of the CK bands and ensembles (Beginner, Junior, Intermediate, Concert and Jazz Band and Concert Ensemble).

The CKBPA is dedicated to enhancing the musical experience of each and every student in the program. The parent or guardian of each student that registers for band and pays the requisite $50/year membership fee is automatically a member of the CKBPA, eligible to vote at general and annual meetings and to stand for office. Funds raised from annual membership dues and from a variety of events through the year are used to purchase new and/or replace instruments, accessories and local trips.

The CKBPA is only as strong as it's membership. To achieve success and effective support of the program we require the commitment of everyone. If you haven't already done so please sign up to help at one of our upcoming fundraisers, or contact CKBPA President Mike Wark or Music Director Jim Lindh to learn how you can get involved.

A Word About Fees

Students are required to pay a CKBPA registration fee. In addition it is a requirement of the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board that students registering in a school band program pay a Band User Fee based upon their instrument requirements.

The Fee schedule is as follows:

CKBPA registration fee:
- per student or family

Band User Fee:
- Beginner student
- Intermediate, Concert Band and Jazz Band members using school instrument
- if student owns instrument
- if student plays two instruments, but one is owned by the student
- maximum per family

Please contact Jim Lindh as soon as possible if you have not yet registered or if you have any concerns with fee requirements.
